i've seen so many different styles of clothing in montreal, that i've lost count. i'm not saying that one style is better than the other, but i have noticed that montrealers love their branded clothing. i've seen people wear canada goose jackets at +10 degrees celsius, most probably because they don't want to part with the popular jacket. during the winter, i can most likely see 30 canada goose jackets in a day. BUT i don't know how many of them are counterfeit. i absolutely DO NOT believe in counterfeit products and hence my first "spotted" post:counterfeit louis vuitton items.

i went to the JT warehouse sale on jean talon during the first week of april. i'm not much of a sample/warehouse sale type person anymore (i was obsessed with sample sales back in my cegep and university days), but my boyfriend needed new pairs of jeans. he's somewhat skinny and has a hard time finding jeans his size, so he enjoys going to sample sales because they usually carry his size. anyways, i wasn't planning on buying anything, but i found a cashmere and wool blend sweater/tunic for less than $80 and i was sold (the dolman sleeves were a plus!).

my friends NS & TW wanted to check out the newest forever 21 on st. catherine street and since i've never bought anything from forever 21 in montreal before, i was quite surprised to find so many affordable and trendy items there! however, i was pretty disappointed on their size selections and the strange fit of many of their items. NS, TW and i tried on at least 20 items each, only purchased around 3 each.

the first two items on the left are from forever 21: a cute lace skirt (worn on 2011-04-04) and the red plaid shirt that does not match with the rest of the items purchased that day... i also bought a black sleeveless sweater, but i never took a stock item of this item and so it looked crazy if i put added it into this purchases photo.

the other 2 items are the same dress in beige and black. i tried on a few play suits and realized that they looked strange on me and decided to go for dresses in the same style instead.

this isn't a new colour, but i was looking for this nail polish last summer and it was constantly sold out. so you can imagine my surprise when i saw this lovely shade of pink at trade secret.

these items were purchases almost a month ago during the banana republic/gap/old navy family and friends sale and i've worn every item so far. i've succeeded on following items that i actually need for my spring wardrobe - yay!

i'll be the first admit it - i don't own many colourful items in my closet. i'm looking at my half-opened closet now and all i see are black skirts, grey skirts, grey sweaters and a whole bunch of black items that don't really stand out when placed next to each other (my closet is organized by type of item and then by colour).

however, when having a discussion regarding the new spring trends with my coworkers last week, i was sad that they said my wardrobe won't very spring or summery because all i ever wear is black, white and grey. so to prove them wrong, i'll try to throw in a colorful item here and there. my first item for spring (since it's FINALLY starting to feel like spring today) - a CORAL crepe pencil skirt by adam.

i feel bad for some of my older items and decided to wear my h&m high waisted skirt, which i haven't worn this year yet. the only problem is that it's still pretty chilly out and i need to cover up the silhouette of the skirt with a cardigan. this is the best i could do = boring outfit.  i can't wait to wear this outfit without the tights and cardigan. this skirt would look nice with just a simple grey tank top. i miss summer.

i need to start thinking of interesting accessories but i'm horrible at choosing the right jewelry with my outfits. can anyone help me? what kind of necklace would go with this?

i know this looks more like a comfy weekend look than a work one, but today's weather was absolutely crazy for spring and i needed something warm to wear. i'm greatly looking forward to warm sunny days, but instead i get a cold, windy, rain + hail day. and on top of it all, one of our crazy consultants decided that it was too cold in the office and shut off all the heat.

recent purchase: louis vuitton totally MM in monogram + what's in my bag

after much thought and 2 hours at the louis vuitton boutique, i purchased my latest louis vuitton purse: totally MM in monogram. since this is more than the average priced purse, i was very VERY specific about what i was looking for in a bag. i needed a classic bag with a zipper on top that can be comfortably carried on the shoulder and must have enough space to carry an A4 folder.

manicure of the week: OPI's tropical punch

spring is finally here! i've been using mostly dark or neutral nail polishes during the winter season and i'm finally happy to use a brighter colour on my nails. originally i was debating between three colours: taupe (OPI's over the taupe), redish/pink (OPI's tropical punch) and a grey-purple (essie's merino cool), and as you can see i decided on OPI's tropical punch.
